Jason Cannon:
Storyteller. Director. Coach. Publisher. Podcaster. Human.
Telling stories has been my passion since I won a short story contest way back in 4th grade. (Full disclosure: I totally ripped off Honey, I Shrunk the Kids!)
And telling stories has been my profession for almost thirty years now. I’m a director, actor, playwright, and improviser, as well as an author, public speaker, and teacher.
Somewhere along the way, I realized that every corner of my work—no matter the medium—was about one thing: helping people tell better stories.
So I built Cannon Story Company, a home for every way I do that. It’s the umbrella that houses my storycoaching practice, my publishing imprint (Ibis Books), my Substack and podcasts (Page & Stage and 100 Plays), my newest space for truth-telling (The Loose Cannon), and the workshops, courses, and keynotes I deliver to classes and groups online and in-person.
This work is personal. It’s professional. And it’s sacred. Because stories are how we make sense of ourselves—and how we connect at the most vulnerable levels with one another.
If you're working on something brave and true, I’d be honored to walk with you.

My experience with Jason Cannon was as a writing coach, dramatist, and the most instrumental force in my writing career. Professional, patient, caring, respectful in his review of my work. He made a real, measurable difference in my writing.

Jason has helped me tremendously. I'm a c-suite executive turned executive leadership coach and I wanted help with my personal branding and messaging for things like keynotes and signature talks, media guest spots, hosting my own podcast. Jason took the time to do an extensive deep dive into who I was - read my books, listened to some interviews I had done, prepared tailor made questions for me to answer. He and I then had some "jam sessions" (i.e. brainstorming) which were a lot of fun. Jason also helped me with the physicality of speaking - really using my voice as an instrument. He took me through warm-up activities, mindset exercises, and practice readings every week. On top of being incredibly good at what he does, Jason is just GOOD PEOPLE. Friendly, personable, truly interested and wants to help. Work with Jason. You will not be disappointed.

Put simply, without Jason, I wouldn't have the privilege of my scripts being performed on stage. Jason's guidance, assistance, and recommendations are the reasons why I now have the honour of being called a produced playwright. Jason is the ultimate professional whose encouragement for you to keep pushing as a writer knows no boundaries. He challenges you to dive deeper into your works and, because of that, enriches your script.

Cannon Story Company:
A creative studio dedicated to the art and impact of storytelling.
I’m building a home for writers, performers, and truth-tellers.
A place where memoirs take flight, podcasts find their voice, speeches gain clarity, and raw ideas are shaped into lasting impact.
It’s where playwrights wrestle with truth on the page and bring it roaring to life on the stage.
It’s where public speakers push past powerpoint and making sales by relying on true tales and making connection.
At its heart, this work is about empathy. It’s about human connection. It’s about making meaning in a chaotic world—and helping others do the same.
If that sounds like the kind of world you want to help build, you’re in the right place.
Whether you're refining your message, amplifying your voice, or crafting something unforgettable from the fragments of memory, I’m here to help you do it with clarity, craft, and courage.
